Weeping Blue Ginger, Blue Pendant

It hasn't been the type of plant that bushes up for me (Could be not enough sun?). It shoots off what I would call single branches which leaf and flower and then lay down probably to root themselves. I have taken a bunch of those branches and rooted them as cuttings. I have two pots on the porch from those cuttings that flower all year, the original plant is still alive and sending off the same one or two branches. The flowers are a beautiful blue color and hang down off of a drooping stalk with several blooming at the same time. Very delicate looking plant but has made it through some cold snaps fine.

This is an indoor plant in zone 6. The flower stems dry up after blooming. The good news is that they bloom for a long period of time. ...Read More Six mo this, in my case. New flower "stems" eventually form from new growth. I cut off the dried up stems. Mine likes to be pot bound and damp.
