I have it planted in well-drained soil in full sun, along my south-facing foundation. It normally shows very little dieback. It has, in fact, survived the winter potted outdoors one winter and that is how I discovered how hardy it is.

I'm going to get another for next Spring, regardless of what this particular Salvia looks like and plant a new one in the ground.
