My plant has reached 6' tall and wish it wouldn't have grown any taller than 3 feet. It gets so huge that every spring I cut it back to 3' to start over again. It grows just like my other cane begonia from my grandmother, that was from the 1950's. The more light the more color and flowers look like pink clusters of grapes but not often, even in the most optimal light. I propagate by cutting off top foot of cane with several nodes and 2-3 leaves, that I just bury in the dirt and then water. That is how easy it is to propagate. Does great in regular household temperatures with east or south facing light. This plant can take a lot of abuse and might be the ticket if you don't want a huge plant. hahaha

It roots easily in water. As the canes become tall, I pinch the tips to make it bushier instead of lanky. It loves an East window but has not bloomed for me yet. Very nice contrast to other green houseplants in a group set up. I am a sucker for anything burgundy or spotted and this houseplant has both. Really eye catching.

The flowers are rosey red, but not profuse. It is easy to propagate. A real winner.
