It is ...Read Morea pretty native plant that grows wild along the Atlantic Coast from NY down thru FL and west along the Gulf of Mexico into LA. A number of cultivars are planted a good amount in the landscapes of the Mid-Atlantic. I even planted one bought from Frank's Nursery in northern Illinois in the 1990's, though not well know there or other Midwestern areas. Nice, soft plant.
