It gets quite a bit of ...Read Moresummer sun, including midday, which is why it flowers so abundantly. I keep it mulched very well and fertilize once a year. When in full bloom, mine looks like it is a misty lime green color, from a distance. The blooms are proliferous. In the PNW (Zone 8b), it usually blooms in early April for me, not St. Patricks Day. This year (2012), it is a bit late because of a cool March.
