However, to get them to grow well, here in cool climate Idaho, I grow them on raised mounds which are covered in landscape cloth. Landscape cloth raises the temperature of the ground surrounding the plant substantially.
Cantaloupes love the heat, so growing them on landscape cloth will make a huge difference in the sweetness of your cantaloupes and watermelons; especially if you live in a Northern State like Idaho.

Superstars are exceedingly sweet and luscious to eat. However, one word of caution: Once picked, they will over ripen quickly. So, if you aren't going to eat them soon (2 or 3 days), cut them up and store them in the fridge.
