The foliage is very attractive as well. This is a very solid performer. Update: I've had this for four year now, and have added more to my collection because it's a real asset to the garden. It gets bigger and bushier every year, and blooms more, and requires very little attention. I divided one early this summer, and it doesn't appreciate that much, but the divisions did survive and are recovering nicely after protesting a bit.
Hardy Z4-7 in eastern N. America. This species does not tolerate hot humid summers in which the night temperatures often remain above 70F.
