The pots were definitely frozen rock-solid for quite a few days, so it is really amazing that anything survived such cold. The plants were very small and weak, so this makes it an even bigger surprise. I am eager to see what this plant can take once in the ground. A solid thumbs-up from me.
This happened in Sofia, 2300 feet AMSL, which is in zone 6b, where winters are usually pretty long and severe, and not in Krapets, where none of the 4 species of eucalyptus planted into the ground in 2011 died. All are alive and regrowing, in the case of E.gunnii there was no damage whatsoever.
