Best planted in groups of 3, they get better every year and are easy, the spot they are in is quite poor sandy soil, balloon flowers prefer to be very well drained.
This particular variety is strong stemmed and doesn't flop over, the flowers are large, at least 2.5" diameter, the blue veins tend to improve as the plant gets older. They make quite a lot of seed, tempted to sow some more, they are a great edge of the border filler. Mine are at the edge of rosa Rhapsody in Blue, a perfect companion.
