1)Sow @ 18-22*C [~64-71*F] for 2-4 wks; then move to -4 to 4*C [24-39*F] for 4-6 wks; then move to 5-12*C [41-53*F] for germination.
2) Sow at 20*C (68*F). Here, note that Pizzetti and Cocker, in Flowers Vol I, say that "...seed...should be sown in pots immediately it is ripe, and the pots should remain outdoors during winter."
3) 2nd edition of Norman C. Deno's book, Seed Germination Theory and Practice - Deno agrees with #1 above with regard to cycling temperatures, but his method varies in temps and timing: 70*F (with 20% germination) for 3 months; then 40*F for 3 months; then 70*F (with 5% germination) for 3 months and 40*F (5% germination) for 3 months; then 70*F (2% germination) for 3 months
