These plants are evergreen in areas with mild winters.
Magnifica tends to have a longer bloom period than most of the wild forms of this species but I think Major Wheeler might have a longer bloom season (specimens near me are still flowering). I, however, prefer oranges over reds so I like this selection. Another great one is the yellow 'John Clayton'.

Have trouble with aphids(?) or some instect and have to spray it or the leaves go brown and fall off. Still not sure it's not also getting a fungus as I have lots of trouble with that on other plants. Still I love it as it blocks the neighbors pool through my lattice topped fence. Has no fragrance but I think the orange color makes up for it.

This is the absolute best Hummingbird vine I have in my yard. The hummers love it!
