got interested in this plant after seeing it at SIL's home in germany. she has it sitting on window sill (in the evenings, they have aut...Read Moreomated aluminum windows that roll down, so this might have been giving it protection from cold) - and has been trained to grow as a potted wreath. at that time, month of july, plant had 2 clusters of bloom. according to her the plant has been sitting in the very same spot, morning sun, 5 years. was intrigued and bought a couple on arrival home. it has been four years since i bought these two hoyas, one variegated, and the other just green leafed.
todate, mine has not given me a single bloom. it is thriving very well. but no bloom. in partial shade sitting along with streptocarpellas (that are blooming all year round), one oldie blooming once a year yellow cymbidium. it is trailing very well...so far that's all it's done...just glad that it is still alive andhealthy.
pse advise if it needs more sun. am afraid to shock it, and also what fertiliser to use?
recently, last month, i was visting sherman's institute in newport beach and on the counter, they had for sale a one heart shaped leaf hoya. (sale pitch being valentine month) - according to cashier, node would eventually root. bought that too (5.00) and later saw it for less at home depot. if i can root that (will it?) i should be so happy.

An easy, if unexciting species. Worth growing if one has a lot of space.
