I grew 7 plants of Mariachi for the first time this year, wanting a pepper that's got some "heat" - but not too much! I'm real satisfied...Read More with it. Mariachi is productive and has good flavor - it gets pretty sweet when ripe, but there's still plenty of heat.
We've been using these to make Chiles Rellenos and they're perfect for that. The heat level definitely gets your attention, but it's not unpleasant. Yesterday I made a gallon of pico de gallo garden salsa from ripe tomatoes, ripe sweet peppers, sweet onions, green onions, and cilantro - and I chopped up 18 Mariachi peppers in it for the heat. That worked out JUST right - it's hot, but not too hot. Recommended!
