I purchased this plant last year at a nearby Amish nursery. It had been overwintered during a particularly harsh winter in a three gallo...Read Moren pot. I planted it in a shady, rather dry part of my garden, kept it watered, and watched it carefully.
Over last winter, which was unusually mild, I protected it by "mulching" it with a pyramid made of plastic garbage bags filled with leaves.
This season it is sending shoots out of established stalks, and appears none the worse for the wear. Even if it is marginally hardy for my zone, which I am not certain it is, its lush, broad palmate leaf structure looks attractive in my garden. I consider it to be a keeper, worth whatever effort I might have to put into it.
