It is absolutely lovely and requires very little maintenance.
It is located on the south-facing (hot! full sun) wall of my home. I did take care to abundantly amend my clay soil with pea gravel. When I was finished, the soil would not clump no matter how wet it was nor how much I squeezed it. Moreover, I created a raised area in which to plant the lavender in order to assure sharp drainage. The plant receives no more water than rain or snow provides. Every year, I spread additional white pea gravel underneath the plant, which I read helps prevent fungal disease. So far, so good.
This lavender appears to glow once it starts blooming. The buds are white, and the blooms are small and light purple. It blooms from end of spring through beginning of fall, even without deadheading.
