However, even though I've...Read More read sources stating its hardiness range to be zones 6-8, I lost two different plants two years in a row here in zone 8 where the rest of my rosemary plants fared fine with little to no winter damage. Both were first season plants growing in potting soil in whiskey barrels. When I lost the one the first winter I bought another the next spring, but that one too didn't survive the next winter.
It may be that the plants sensitivity is to our excessively wet winters rather than the temperature but while it's a fun one to try, it's not a guaranteed variety for western Washington. All the same, I think this variety is worth another try and will be trying it again in sandy, well drained soil to see if that makes the difference.

This is a great groundcover for hot, dry summer areas. It grows very quickly and branches will root to form new plants, but it is not invasive.
