I started it in mine, but decided I would rip it out before it became a home front battle. Even with just one year's growth from a small start, it took a year to get it eliminated. Plant with caution.

I like the color, shape and size of the flowers, and it is a low-maintenance, trouble-free plant. It does tend to spread, so I divide it every couple of years.

I am in zone 5a and it is really the only thing I have in flower yet (early May) besides spring bulbs and pinks. So, I would not even say it was late spring. It is growing strongly and is not spreading beyond its bounds. A very nice plant.
