I ...Read Moreassumed the worst, but left the pot alone and they are now coming back after good winter rains, 2010. Planted in a mix of 1/4" crushed gravel and poor, clay soil. Sits in a terracotta pot in partial shade - hope to naturalize if success continues.
Beautiful flower, but fussy plant. I wouldn't recommend for most home gardens, but if you're in Southern California and have to have it... get it from a reputable native plant dealer. Don't wild harvest this.

Exquisite and uncommon California native plant. Probably not suited to ordinary garden cultivation. If you find one, please let it be.
