It has responded very well to training and prunin...Read Moreg and so far has not suckered (which is why I bought the graft rather than the natural rootstock). The flowers are large, fragrant and perfectly white; the trunk is elegant, and the leaves provide shade and privacy. It needs little care. I do not fertilize and keep it pruned fairly tight to the leading branches in order to contain it and encourage flowering. It is trained on an arbor beside the house and I keep it pruned away from the house itself. This is one of the most beautiful plants in my garden due to its form and fragrance; it has an old-fashioned charm that adds significantly to our property.

Everyone has the purple , But I am one of the few who has the white and the flower clusters are longer and more fragrant I love it and the hours of painful labor to keep it from taking over the world here are worth it !!!
