H. l. limifolia variegate thrives in my garden, in the ground with water every other week in summer and none in winter. It is in deciduous tree shade and protected in winter only by downed leaves. This plant has had a hard life, having been in a pot that got knocked over while we were away, then rescued and put into the ground. It has just put out its first pup two years later. Like regular H. l. limifolia, the pups come up several inches to a foot away from the mother plant.

Varie...Read Moregated parts tend to burn a bit in sun, but mine did OK in Thousand Oaks in part shade (zone 9b). Eventually rotted from overwatering in summer. OH well. Offsets eventually which can be removed and new plants grown from them.
