Between blackspot and subsequent die off (even with preventive measures and some spraying) it needed a lot of pruning, and it hasn't bounced back. It's been well fed, and watered properly, so it may not like where it is.

My plant, bought from Walmart as a potted "bareroot" is only two months in the ground and has put out one beautiful bloom. many buds on so expecting a great show this spring (2012).

I had never tried t...Read Moreo grow roses, so I had no idea what a rose bush needed, yet every year, Charisma bloomed beautifully and trouble-free from spring until late in the fall. When we moved, we left this rose --- I have regretted leaving it behind ever since. We have had many roses in the ensuing years, but Charisma is the one we recall most fondly. In essence, the rose that most resembles Charisma today in ease of growing would have to be the "Knockout" series, although Charisma is very different in color --- more like another old favorite, the climber known as "Joseph's Coat." I would love to find "Charisma" again featured at local nurseries, but nobody seems to have even heard of this lovely rose. So sad.
