The deer and rodents ignore it completely and bugs don't bother it either. This year it's even taller (6 ft) and it isn't even July yet. It hasn't flowered but even if it never does the foliage is spectacular and it is a treasured addition to a tough area. It keeps reaching for the sky with no need for staking. I love to watch it from day to day getting seemingly endlessly taller and unfurling sturdy beautiful leaves at 45 degree angles to the stalk.

For five years I have been trying to find out what is eating the leaves, going out at night with a flashlight, placing insect bait traps, using diatomaceous earth...all to no avail. Anyone know what's up? If not for the bugs, I would give this a positive rating. Huge, architectural, reliable, great in mostly shade...just those darn bugs!!!!
