A. delamateri is a rather rare species, known only from a handful of locations in Arizona. Its rarity is also attributed to the fact that the flowers either abort due to a lacking climatic condition in Arizona as opposed to it's natural locale or the seed set is sterile since the clones growing within worthwhile distance are all of the same genetics.
