While the information states that it should not be allowed to dry out at all, these plants routinely flourish in drought conditions. I have a potted Spiral Bulrush that lived in a birdbath through the winter of 2014 which was record breaking cold for this area. Didn't even wilt or loose the tips.
I'm marking this as positive because I like the plant. It is certainly invasive in the right environment, but it is easy to get rid of with some pulling.
