It´s natural to Phillipines, but was introduced in Hawaii, where it´s being considered invasive, and authorities are even considering on exterminating plants in particular collections, since it can spread easily by seeds. However, this is still an imponent tree and an interesting species to try. It prosperates on constantly moist and fertile clay soil and high temperatures, but following the USDA and hawaiian authorities, if you live under these optimal conditions, avoid this species.
