It is our best substitute for Crassula sp. (eg Jade Plant), which as a rule don’t survive here (Silver Jade marginally so, with no real growth).. Even so, Purple Ladder is best suited to a Mediterranean climate. It should be grown it a very dry, very sunny location in Ft Lauderdale, where it will form a branching, spreading mat/ mound up to 2 feet high in the middle. It will exhibit purple coloring during the cooler, drier part of the winter months.
