It should do well for you indoors in a bright site, make sure to keep the soil moist but well drained, biggest losses usually caused by letting it get bone dry due to winter heat indoors, so it's important it stays moist and spray/mist it or use a humidifier if necessary.

My licualas grow only a few fronds per year but each is larger with a much longer petiole than the last so as to increase the overall height and width by a couple feet in two years' time.

Some have managed to make it thrive as an indoor palm if given plenty of humitidy and light, but kept on the warm side. It is one of the easiest palms to germinate and grow, as long as you have a green house or live in Hawaii... but if you live in the mainland US.. except maybe the south tip of Florida, don't bother. Licuala peltata unsplit (=Licuala elegans) is a much pretty and tougher palm anyway.
