The fruit is astringent, but used in traditional east Asian medicine. The whole plant is highly attractive to felines, like catnip, and is used in zoos to sedate lions.
In other respects, it's mostly similar to other Actinidia---tough and adaptable, dioecious, with attractive large white blotches on the leaves of mature males.
