It is used as a "sweat inducing" herb. When ingested, it may cause skin sensitivity to sunlight snd can cause dermatitis when handled. The seeds need sunlight to germinate so do not cover with soil. It is a perennial if you can keep it from setting seed.Only the root is used in herbal preparations.
