I have mine growing in semi-shade on my patio. The plant looks great all spring, summer and fall. It usually gets burned by the end of winter but it re-sprouts quickly in spring. I've also never had any problems with insect pests. It's a great little bamboo to grow in a pot and is hardy at least to Zone 7a, even in a pot.

Slow growing running Bamboo with a great chartreuse coloration. Works wonders in a shady spot by brightening the area with no need for flowers.
