No pest problems, aside from the inevitable tobacco budworm invasion. The plants will soldier through it, though. With adequate fertilizer and water, they’re tough to kill. They can even handle touch of frost!

I put a bunch of pots with potting mix under them, and by September I had a healthy crop of volunteers going. I am going to leave most outside to their fate in a protected area, and overwinter the best in a sunny window.

If you want a fantastic evening fragrance garden, try growing these with nicotiana alata (the species), nicotiana sylvestris, Hesperus matronalis, and matthiola longipetala. Sheer heaven!

Just f...Read Moreor clarification, it should be noted that Petunia multiflora is not a true botanical species and is a misnomer. There are however several classifications of Petunia x hybrida that include Multiflora types (petunias with smaller, more numerous flowers and trailing habits) as well as Grandiflora, Floribunda and Milliflora types.

I was joyfully surprised to find this month (April)that Petunia's are just popping up all over the yard in 'patches' as well as single plants! Various shades from pale to dark lavendar's and pinks. Some are 6" to 10" and some even taller! Some, as I stated, are in 'clumps' and others just scattered about! I had a difficult time cutting the lawn because I had to cut many of these brave and beautiful little plants down. Since I am from FL have have little experience in GA gardening..does anyone know if I can pull these plants up (dig them up) and re-locate them to one general location with success? and..why are they just popping up like this??! ...Thanks!
