After watering it a few times, I forgot about it. One day maybe a year or 2 later, I noticed that it had climbed up the 6’ yucca tree it was planted under in part shade and had a huge bud on it ready to bloom! I recognized it as a night-blooming cereus and stayed up to watch the bud open to a huge white flower about 14” in diameter! Awesome! Then the petals faded away but the base of the flower bulged and turned red and became a big Dragon fruit! This cactus is cute as an indoor plant with its’ colorful grafted ball, but planted where it gets a little sun and not too cold- it is one dynamite plant!
