Strictly a cool summer region flower. Needs a moist but well drained, acid soil in sun to light shade. Dislikes waterlogged soil and dry soil conditions. Keep out of hot sun and often needs a leafy winter mulch if not being lifted.
Hates being disturbed so division isn't the best way of propagation and should ideally be left to naturalise.
Seeds germinate at about 40-50F and the plants often take 4 years to flower from seed.
One of the easier Nomocharis but still not for the feint of heart.
