I created a shallow trench using the edge ...Read Moreof a hoe and broadcast the seed into the trench and covered with approximately 1/2 inch of soil. The following June, I had hundreds of small plants that looked like 1/2 inch blades of grass on a short stock. I estimated the germination success rate at 20-30 percent. To protect the small plants from rabbits and snails, I placed small fir branches (without needles) over the plants.
I will post additional information on these plants in June or July of 2010. I am very interested in how large the plants will be there second year and how long it will take for these plants to bloom.
