As with all Ranunculus ficaria, this one can be invasive if the conditions are right but tends to stay quite small if the ground around it remains undisturbed. The leaves die back in June and reappear the following winter.
Collecting the seed isn't recommended because it won't come true, all the R. ficaria cultivars need to be propagated vegetatively to keep the colours. This is frighteningly easy since they produce a multitude of tiny tubers just under the surface of the soil. Once you have them in the garden, they will be difficult to get rid of so choose their site carefully and well away from any lawn space.
