The blade is heart-shaped with a slightly wavy margin, average substance, no corrugation and with 6-7 vein pairs. A gold color develops in mid-October.
Flowers are a narrow funnel shape, medium purple with a lighter throat. Scapes are 15" - 23" with the flowers clustered in the top 2-1/2" of each scape. There are many scapes per clump and many seed pods develop. The blooming season is fairly short in duration.
Great for use as an edger, low ground cover, or rock garden plant. Has been used in many breeding programs over the years.
