What an amazing plant. It drapes luxuriously like a Gibson Girls trailing dress...up like a bustle, and then gracefully over to trail on the ground. It smells DIVINE. You only get one flush of bloom, and the occasional blossom for the rest of the season, but it's habit and aroma have won it a place in my garden. Grown in zone 6 in clay soil amended with lagoonage and otherwise ignored. In turn it gives me a graceful form and the most decadent aroma - like a combination of citrus, burgundy wine and rose. Here in manure-spraying country, that quality is much appreciated. And this rose will DELIVER. Appreciates a light feeding of compost tea when you get around to it. A grande dame indeed.
