This variety is grown mainly for it's bright red foilage. The deep red flowers are very small and are hidden by the bright red foilage. In full sun the red hot Hibiscus needs twice the water of an average Hibiscus, and it also needs the sun to become bright red. It also seems to be more cold-tender than my other varieties of Hibiscus, and the leaves will burn just from a 60 degree brisk wind in the Fall. I rate this plant a positive for it's red foilage, but a neutral if you are looking for breath-taking flowers.
