Despite its look...Read Moreing a bit sad at purchase time, I planted it and it prospered. This year it is back (its second year) and doing even better. It's planted between a couple of patches of plants that get taller and taller over the course of its bloom period and it doesn't mind the increasing shade at all, simply putting out ever more blooms on its sunniest side. As of this typing, it has been blooming for at least three weeks and just put out another new flower cluster after a day of rain.
This plant is also much harder to kill than most plants listed as rock garden plants/alpine plants; I've tried growing many of them in my rocky, windy, sloped garden and most of them are either killed by our hot summers or our wet cold winters, but this has been doing great. Highly recommended both for cranesbill fans and lovers of little dainty plants!

Cranesbill is a favorite for its excellent habit and late spring to summer blooming period. Flowers remain nestled among the leaves. Foliage colors deeply in fall.
