All summer it bears wide, funnel-shaped flowers that are white to pale pink and have a bluish tint on the outer sides. The seedpods are smooth (no spines), hang downward, and will fall apart when the seeds are ripe. Growth is rather sparse compared to other species but the large fragrant flowers make them worthy of cultivation. The 7-inch blooms open up in mid-day and close the following morning. A large group planting will provide the nicest display. D.ceratocaula will do best in a sunny and warm location. A damp soil or shallow water is best but they will tolerate ordinary garden soil with sufficient watering.
