I lovingly call this iris a weed because it multiplies like crazy wherever I put it in my yard.

I got this as a free bonus gift with another bulb purchase, and it has turned me into an Iris lover. I planted it in the fall, around No...Read Morevember, here in Tampa, Fl (zone 9b). It immediately put out the leaves you see in my picture. On June 17th, it finally bloomed. It also has a very sweet smell which surprised me. I did very little other than water it regularly, and occasionally fertilize it. I wasn't sure how well bulbs would do in the extreme heat. However, I've had great success this year and would encourage others not to believe the myth that bulbs don't do well in the deep South.
