It did not bloom the next spring, but did grow through the summer and this year it bloomed nicely. Spiced Custard is more compact than some Tall Bearded Irises - a plus in my small garden. Plus the stems didn't fall over in the rain. It's an unusual color combination, looks better in person than in photos. I like this iris. It looks like increase is somewhat slow - also good in my small garden, and I won't have to divide as quickly as some of the others.
