(one of the new iris is dark blue, not true to the color of the others) The color is much more pale for me than in the catalogs, it is pale blue in shade and nearly silver / gray in bright light. The fragrance is sweet and strong, drifting from next to my front porch to several feet away. The petals sparkle in strong sunlight. The stalks have produced 3 or 4 flowers each, and are well over 3 feet tall. It is in a plant killer flower bed that very little thrives in, but this iris has flourished.

I don't know what conditions make it the bright blue of jfrizzel (which is what I wanted) maybe it's sun light because I have only observed it in shade.

As a result the spring bloom is very spotty, compared to other varieties I planted at the same time in the same location.

I planted this fall 2007 so will wait to see what it does but it bloomed in 2008 the height of a SDB.
