The blooms open to a dusky blue/gray color and lighten to a pretty pale blue that provides a perfect backdrop to my echinacea purpurea. Blooms at least 3 weeks, with reblooming later in the season. I mulch it every spring. This year 2005 it has bloomed and bloomed! It's had blooms for about 2 months now and shows no sign of stopping. I keep it well watered as it's been very hot and dry here this year. The blooms are small likely due to it being in a pot. I love this clematis!
