It can also occasionally break its all white growth and begin sprouting all-green leaves - this tends to happen more often when the plant is divided, so best to leave them alone when possible. And, in my experience, it takes them about twice as many seasons to double in size than a typical green hosta - these reasons are why I grade them a neutral - but are they ever gorgeous when they are in their happy place! I get many compliments on mine and neighbors and passers by marvel at how lovely they are. I have mine interplanted with Fire Chief Heuchera and the combo of red and white is really striking. The white hostas are big enough to provide enough shade for the heucheras to do very well. Then, back behind, white and purple liatris. A very nice show.

Have to say that this is one of only 2 hostas I've had difficulty growing, even though I moved it around trying to find a place it would ...Read Morethrive! Probably too much white and not enough chlorophyll. Night Before Christmas is a good grower, however.

Some people do have trouble getting this one to grow well.
