This one is prone to 'bad hair days,' when the petals just don't open attractively, but it usually sorts itself out within a bloom or two. Thereafter it is a great accent in the garden. It is registered dormant, but it is evergreen here in west central Florida. I find the color works really well with the soft blue Buddleia 'Ellen's Blue.'
2005 -- Turns out FS's bad hair days are thrips caused. That's the trouble gardening when visually impared! On the other hand, that's why I love these bright colors!
FRITZ SHROER is, by far, the most fragrant daylily I grow and is more heavily scented than H. citrina or H. lilioasphodelus (syn. flava).
