The actual oregano species and subspecies are sort of questionable in the cross however. It is hardier than Italian, and survives quite well here in Zone 5. You need to propagate this one vegetatively, like French tarragon. This is one of the best flavored oreganos. It is quite strong, yet not bitter, and is best dried (though you can use this one green too).
