Or think of it as an even more indestructible alternative to the mighty yaupon holly (Ilex vomitoria).
A weeping variety called 'Pendula' is also available; a large one is growing at New Orleans Botanical Garden, so this tree can obviously tolerate lots of rain and humidity.
