Alas, I lost my most recent one to rose rosette disease spread by my landlord's (bleep)ing Knockouts..But I got pictures, and will post them if I can scope out this interface.

KP is not easy to find from garden centers or catalogs, but occasionally Walmart or even Big Lots has it. Do look out for rose rosette disease when you buy ANY rose cheap, though; it's spread by a microscopic mite, and can devastate not only your own roses but every rose on your block.

The bi color is absolutely beautiful, painting like, flawless. I couldn't think of another bi color better, it's like a 1950's lapel or corsage rose. Have one that's about 18 years old but this one is a new body bag 4.95 wal mart. If that's not proof of what a strong vigorous beauty it is. A must for any rose garden.

I also discovered that in the last two weeks it has put out two new canes from the bud graft. They are as big around as my index finger at the base and approximately 10 inches tall. Every day you can see how much the entire plant has grown; up to half an inch a day. It was blooming when I purchased it and the blossoms are exquisite, second only to Double Delight among the multicolored varieties. This is a very satisfying rose to grow and I highly recommend it. Just remember to follow proper rose planting procedures in well drained soil with lots of mulch (2-3 inches). I use organic 2 year fertilizer tablets at time of planting (12-8-8 from AgSafe) and follow up with weekly applications of Miracle Grow, alternating between their standard product (24-8-16) and their Super Bloom (10-52-10) Note: (be sure and NOT spray the leaves or you'll have black spot & mildew). The instructions on the Home Depot label are quite good: water daily until established and deeply once every 7 to 10 days. I leave the hose out at a slow trickle for 24 hours to provide the deep soaking. These planting procedures have proven to be very effective with all my roses. I live in a hot climate (same latitude as Cairo, Egypt) and our average daytime high temperatures during the warm season run in the 80s & 90s six months a year with high humidity and intense sunlight. Growing hybrid roses can be a challenge under these conditions but you can have excellent results.

It's been a year now and this rose continues to impress. The spring foliage is solid red and lush from top to bottom with very little bare cane showing (the old foliage fell off as the new growth started in January). The plant is budding vigorously and promises a wonderful display. Last year it bloomed in frequent flushes of 5 inch blossoms from the time I planted it until the first hard frost. It is without doubt the most vigorous (modern) hybrid rose in my garden.
