It is now July 18, 2015 and it is six weeks or so since I planted two Sweet Summer Love clematis. They climbed about 8 feet and are in bloom. They are lovely and charming with a light sweet scent. I love them. Next year will be a real show. I have had many clematis over the years and I believe this to be the most charming and non fussy clematis that I have ever had.

(June 29, 2016) It's June 29 and my plant is about to bloom. (Boston Z6)
This is a new hybrid that first bloomed in 2007, bred by Szczepan Marczynski in Poland. He prefers not to reveal the parents and states only that it's related to C. flammula, commonly called virgin's bower. It should not be confused with sweet autumn clematis or Japanese clematis (C. terniflora, now called C. paniculata again), a rampant grower which can be invasive and looks much like C. flammula.
It can only be propagated by cuttings. I don't know if it's fertile, but even fertile hybrids don't come true from seed. This is neither invasive nor a noxious weed---the detail above comes from mistakenly identifying this with C. paniculata/terniflora. It does not self-sow.
Clematis flammula is usually listed as only hardy to Z6. This hybrid is often listed as hardy only to Z5, and that seems likely based on parentage.
